Ray Lewis’ Son, Ray Lewis III, Dead at 28


ray lewis iii, the son of Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis and the former college football star himself, has died. He is 28 years old and just celebrated his birthday on June 5th.

“Can’t believe I’m typing this at night but rest in peace brother 🕊 💫,” Rahsaan wrote. “A true angel.I pray you’re at peace now cause I know how much you have [were] It really hurts. ”

“I don’t, I’ll never say man, because of the pain here…” he said. “I love you, I love you, I love you 💫❤️.”


Rahsaan, a University of Kentucky graduate who played for the Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team, went on to say that his brother’s niece “[is going to] Miss you but she will hear about you over and over again. ”


“Just watch all our big guys. Be our keeper,” he wrote. “I promise, I’ll make you smile and proud. ❤️.”

Details of Ray III’s death are unknown. People have contacted his father’s representatives for comment.


He is survived by five siblings, including brothers Rashaan, Rayshad Lewis and Ralin Lewis and sisters Diaymon Lewis and Kaitlin Lewis – most of whom also shared touching messages about Ray III on their social media pages on Thursday night condolences.


“Brownie, I love [you] With all my heart,” Diaymon wrote. “You will always be my first love, truly the definition of a quintessential bro. To the most genuine and talented person I know, go rest baby, I’m glad you’re safe and well. “Fly high baby.”


Added rapper Yung Shad in his own post: “Rest in peace my big bro. Don’t really know the words to describe this—-, just hope [you’re] Peace now.I know you [were] pain. ”

Ray III began his football career as a running back for Lake Mary Reserve in Florida. After graduating in 2013, he followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the University of Miami’s Miami Hurricanes.


Two years later, Lewis transferred to Coastal Carolina University, a Championship Football Division (FCS) program. His career came to an abrupt end in 2016 after he was indicted by a South Carolina grand jury on third-degree criminal sexual assault charges. orlando sentinels reports. After a lengthy investigation, law enforcement dropped the charges.


He later wrapped up his collegiate career with the Virginia League Panthers in 2017 and went on to play indoor football for the Wyoming Broncos in 2021.

Virginia League associate head coach Diego Ryland told TMZ Ray III was a “great young man and an even better teammate. The entire VAU community is in our prayers for the family who lost Ray.”


Mark James, Lewis’ coach at the Virginia Union, wrote: “Two pieces back to back for my ex-player RIP.” “Glad to bring you to the Virginia Union, young man. Ray, Ray, God bless your family. Great young people.”
