A new resource launched Friday, June 16, to help all who care for children and work to help them build their testimony of the Savior.
Instagram users can now follow church friend magazine Check out articles, artwork and stories from children around the world through this new account.
“Teachers, leaders, and caregivers for children have a beautiful but difficult job,” said Church Children’s Creative Director and friend magazine.
First published more than 120 years ago, Friend magazine’s content was designed to ease the burden of this “difficult job” and provide ideas on how to reach children.
“We want to do everything we can to make this job easier,” Glad said. “On our Instagram, they can find ready-made, kid-friendly ‘Come with me’ activities, videos, crafts and recipes, stories, encouragement, techniques for teaching the gospel, and more.”
Nine posts went live Friday morning with some thoughts on what to expect from the account’s new followers. Friend digital assistant managing editor Charlotte Larcabal Speakman said she wanted the account to be an adult companion to the children’s magazine.
“Friends is for the kids, but our Instagram is for their parents. For their elementary school teachers. For all those who join us in teaching children the Gospel.”
New content is posted online daily at instagram.com/thefriendmag Or via the Instagram app, Glad says she couldn’t be happier.
“We’re excited to have another way to provide parents and other teaching adults with the tools and resources to help kids navigate today’s challenges,” Glad said.
