Friends With Benefits: Tania Rangel at Westgate Las Vegas

Despite being pregnant at a young age and dropping out of high school in order to support her two children, Tania Rangel, assistant manager of Fresco Italiano in Westgate Las Vegas, has set her sights on someday success.

When her children were older, she earned her general education certificate in addition to her medical assistant degree and worked various jobs, including working as a part-time hostess at Fresco Italiano seven years ago. So two years ago, when she heard that Fresco Italiano was hiring, it was like coming home.

“When I heard that Fresco was hiring again, I came back,” she said. “At the time, they needed a hostess and a basel, but I wanted to move up. So, then I got into a server position and became a veteran as well. I wasn’t afraid to jump in and try anything, do anything to Help.” Her hard work paid off six months ago when she moved into management and was on track to become general manager.

As management, it’s Rangel’s responsibility to “make sure the restaurant has everything it needs to operate,” she said. “Make sure every employee has what they need and is heard.”

Rangel also works hard when it comes to guest experience – you can find her checking on her guests on the floor every night. “I’m happy and excited to be here, so I wanted to give guests an experience where they felt like they were alone in the entire restaurant,” she said. “My motivation every day is to make my kids proud of their moms. If I don’t accomplish my goals or continue to improve, I won’t be happy with myself.”

Libation: Italian Lemon Drops

Not only is the food authentic and delicious, but Fresco Italiano’s signature cocktail menu is also impressive. For an Italian twist on a classic, try the Italian lemon juice mixed with Malfy Con Limone gin, limoncello and fresh liqueur, with a buzz button and sugar rim.

benefit: For off-menu fare, order the delicious clam linguine – you won’t be disappointed!
