Gainesville, FL – Jasmine Moore was named the 2023 Athletics Honda Sports Award winner by the Collegiate Women’s Sports Awards (CWSA) on Friday. Moore appeared on all eight Bowerman watch lists this season and is a seven-time NCAA champion, winning the season’s NCAA Indoor Championships in the long jump and triple jump and the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the triple jump. She also won gold medals in the long jump and triple jump at the SEC Indoor and Outdoor Championships.

A ten-time USTFCCCA First Team All-American, Moore has won medals in all of the NCAA Championship horizontal long jump competitions she has competed in as a Gator.

During her 2023 campaign, Moore created the indoor triple jump (15.12m/49’7.25″), the indoor long jump (7.03m/23’0.75″) and the outdoor triple jump (14.78m/48’6″) college record). At the NCAA Indoor Championships, Moore became the first woman to accomplish both the 15-meter indoor triple jump and the 7-meter indoor long jump in the same event. She is only the fourth woman to accomplish these feats in the indoor or outdoor long jump one.

Moore is the second Florida Gator track and field athlete to win the Honda Athletics Award. The previous winner was 2019 horizontal jumper Yanis David.

This is the fourth time in Florida Gators history that they have won multiple Honda Awards in the same year. Gators gymnast Trinity Thomas received the Honda Sports Gymnastics Award this year.

Honda Award
The Honda Sports Awards recognize athletic achievement as well as academic and community involvement and are presented throughout the year to female athletes participating in 12 different NCAA-sanctioned sports. Each Honda Sports Award recipient is recognized as the top female college athlete in her sport, and many consider the award to be one of the highest honors available to female college athletes in the United States. With the honor, Moore becomes Female Collegiate Athlete of the Year and a finalist for the prestigious 2023 Honda Cup, which will be held on June 26 at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET on CBS Sports in Los Angeles. Network national telecast airs in Angeles, CA.

The honor is based on national voting by all NCAA member schools as part of the Varsity Women’s Athletic Awards Program, now in its 47th year. The other track and field finalists were Julien Alfred of Texas and Acera Nugent and Britton Wilson of Arkansas.
