Tributes poured in on Thursday as sporting director Joe Amorosino blew the final whistle of 25 years of sports coverage for 7NEWS.
Over the past 25 years, Boston has had many amazing sports moments.
From the Red Sox breaking their 86-year championship spell in 2004, to the Celtics and Bruins ending their decades-long title drought, and all six of the Patriots’ Super Bowl titles, Joe present.
After more than two decades, Joe ended the broadcast for the last time on a Thursday as he left the broadcast to focus on his family business.
Joe’s mother, father and children shared their best wishes on 7NEWS’ final episode. Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron, former Red Sox head coach Terry Francona and Hall of Fame former Red Sox hitter David Ortiz et al. also shared their own information.
Joe will be forgotten on the sidelines and in the 7 newsroom.
